EXECUTIVE COACHING THEMES
Sometimes, I am invited by a few
Business Schools for Guest Lectures in my domain based on my experience to
share with younger minds. But I make it a point to do a Group coaching session
at the end, for their career and personal development.
Also,
In my coaching practice, I am
approached by middle and senior-level leaders from various Industries with
varied issues for Executive coaching.
With my experience so far, I have come to the direction that there are
three basic areas for Executive coaching.
1. Early Executives (Interns & people Kick
starting a career)
2. Mid-Level Executives (Career Development)
3. Senior Executives (Leadership Development)
The Focus area for them
- Early Executives - The coach at
this stage needs to focus on sensitizing the coachee to the corporate
environment and enable them to adapt to changes and excel in performance
- Mid
Executives - This
is also the stage where most executives move to people management, catapulting
career growth, Change Management
- Senior
Executives - Many executives struggle with strategic thinking, risk-taking,
right leadership behavior, and ensuring the execution of the vision. This
will be the coaching theme for this category
I also consider that at various levels coaches need
to focus on ‘Balancing Work-Life with Family-Life’, Since coaching takes a
“whole-person” approach to development with personal goals, Executive Coaching
should address this aspect as well.
